I hate Google!
Now google has come up almost all products that are in the MS Office package. All of google's are web enabled and FREE!!
Once Microsoft was most hated but secretly admired company. None liked monopoly. But you can not blame MS for that. They are really good enough to come up with products that suited many of our daily basic needs. None could compete against MS. MS sees its downfall just because of other OSs and products distributed free. If Sun's Openoffice is not for free, who would switch from MS Word to Sun's equivalent. Moreover I dont see anything new in the free products. Just a replica of the MS. Inspite of all this, MS rules because of its trend setting ideas and products. Just imagine if the MS products seize to exist from tomorrow. I dont know how much of my life would be affected.
Google is doing something like this: Remodelling Prosche with very little innovative stuff added to it and ships it out to customers for FREE with advertisements plastered all over it. Really disgusting!!!!

Are you for real? MS innovators? Most of the what they do is "modelling" other peoples ideas and distributing them through their monopoly! I can assure you that microsoft didnt invent the word processor, spreadsheet, email application, they didnt even invent the intuitive GUI.
Innovation not neccessarily be in technology, it's in their(MS) business model. Its quite easy to curse MS right now. 6-7 years before none raised voice against MS. Evyone was happy using MS office package and didnt complain abt the price. Once the open source/free distribution started coming up evyone turned against MS. I am not pro-MS, but one should appreciate their bussiness innovativeness that got them the MONOPOLY status. Google right now is doin the same. After 5 yrs, the same thing will be said abt google. This just is a common scenario. In enterprise java, whn Sun released EJB 2.0 spec, evyone was happy and appreciated it. Now with the recent entry of hibernate, the same ppl are against EJB 2.0 . Google's main revenue is thru' advertisement and is not a product based company. So they wont care if gmail/orkut or any of their product is in beta version forever. And they are also crushing small businesses by providing evything for free.

I wouldn't say Google is not innovative. If you term MS innovative with business ideas, Google is innovative in it's own ways.
Think about the following:
1. Large mail boxes - why did yahoo / msn not provide it till Google did?
2. Google Maps.
3. Ad-sense
4. Even small nice features like integrating chat and mail - Yahoo / msn should have done it long long ago, given that they were in business for longer period.
Like Microsoft has a strong base of customers who use it's OS, Google has a strong distributed platform, where they can scale any application pretty neatly. And yes, it's products are free !!
